Enrichment

Enrichment takes place throughout the year in a variety of different formats.

Within subjects, enrichment opportunities are built in to the course and might include a visit to a local university, the opportunity to take part in a national competition or visits from guest speakers.

In addition, on a Wednesday afternoon, Enrichment is a compulsory activity for all first year students.

There are 35+ different activities available to choose from in the following groups:

When you start we will send you information about our current Enrichment options so you have plenty of time to decide which activities you might like to try. You will get the opportunity to do different activities throughout the year so that you can learn different skills and try new things!

Students are also encouraged to take part in external enrichment if they are already engaged in activities outside of the Sixth Form.

We offer students the chance to do their Silver Duke of Edinburgh Award – where they must develop skills across four areas, becoming more well-rounded and active in the wider community. Students will also challenge themselves through an expedition requiring planning and teamwork skills. This award is highly valued by universities and employers.

Every year a group of our students undertake the World Challenge expedition to volunteer in a local community. More than just a trip away the expedition is a project where they must fundraise the money for their travel and expenses, helping them to learn the value and management of money and budgeting. The project will also develop team work skills, student’s creativity and initiative and broaden their horizons with an incredible experience for their CV.
