VEX Challenge

Youngsters battle it out with robots at VEX Challenge event

16 July

Pupils from schools across the region took park in a VEX Challenge robotics event on 14 July, which was organised by The RAEng Teacher Network, where pupils built and improved their robot to undertake a series of challenges which tested their ingenuity, co-ordination and engineering skills.

The challenge day, held at Discovery Museum, was the culmination of this year’s collaboration between the RAEng Teacher Network and the regional STEM Advisory Network managed by Newcastle Sixth Form College.

Around 60 pupils from six schools took part in the event, including Charles Thorp, St Wilfrid’s, Cardinal Hume, Washington School, Whitley Bay High, and Joseph Swan.
