Nicole's Super Successful Top 5 Revision Tips!

How do we remember all of the information given to us in each lesson? And how will we then revise efficiently?

One

First and foremost, most of the time in lessons you will be given loads of information within a short amount of time leading to messy notes which are not a good revision source.

After lessons, dedicate time to copying up your notes neatly, as you are recapping and creating a revision source

It’s also extremely important (in my opinion) that you have amazing stationary to spice up your notes. Great stationary = great learning!

Two

Next, trim the notes down into key points which you will remember for your exams.

The best way to do this is to create flashcards on key points of each subject, or mind maps. In practise questions, for example, these flashcards are handy resources to review the key points and trigger development.

Three

Online resources are a great way to revise and recap information. Quizlet.com allows users to create their own flashcards, as well as creating them in a range of languages making this app fantastic for language students learning new vocab!

Four

Short-term memory has a limited capacity, holding about 7 items for 20- 30 seconds at a time.

To increase this capacity you must use various memorising activities and in revising the information, it will transfer to your long-term memory which has an indefinite capacity.

Five

Last but not least, it really helps to keep creating quizzes and testing yourself! In addition, it’s great to bore your parents with the information you have learned!

It is vital that you continue to revise throughout the entire year; this will make revision for exams a lot easier.

Happy revising!
