Equality and Diversity

Embracing equality and diversity at Newcastle Sixth Form College

As a college we complies with the public sector equality duty

We are committed to:

  • eliminating discrimination.
  • advancing equality of opportunity – between people who share a protected characteristic and people who do not share it.
  • consulting and involving those affected by inequality, in the decisions our college takes to promote equality and eliminate discrimination.

Our student body is very diverse and comes from a range of different backgrounds. This diversity makes Newcastle Sixth Form College an exciting and vibrant place to learn.

We have two well-equipped, multi-faith prayer rooms which are available for students to use, and we celebrate a number of religious festivals and holidays throughout the year.

There is no school uniform and no official dress code (but please use common sense!). Students are free to wear what they like, and express themselves however they wish i.e. piercings, hair colour and style etc.
