A team of Newcastle Sixth Form College A Level Maths and Further Maths students took part in the annual Senior Team Maths Challenge (STMC) competition, organised in conjunction with the UK Maths Trust and Further Maths Support Programme.
The regional heat, held in Newcastle, included other teams from 20 other schools and colleges across the city. The NSFC team, made up of students Olivia Moran, Denis Mullaj, Thaqeeb Saleem and Jenny Jobson, came second after completing several rounds of challenging questions.
The STMC is a competition testing mathematical, communication and teamwork skills, and students compete against teams from other schools and colleges from their region.
