Cyber Discovery Success!

29 March

Our Computer Science students have been involved in Cyber Discovery, HM Government's Cyber Schools Programme, is an extracurricular learning programme for students in years 10-13 across England. Its goal is to ensure that many more people enter the cyber security profession in the coming years.

Over 50 of our students were involved in the Assess Stage – 14 coding and problem solving tasks to get onto the Game stage. This involves completing much harder challenges around coding, cyber security, problem solving and other aspects of computer science. Successful students will progress to tackle CyberStart Essentials, giving them the chance to expand their knowledge further with over 100 hours of extra video tutorials, quizzes and learning guides.

The ultimate goal is to reach the Elite stage where top performing students will benefit from additional face-to-face mentoring and further training opportunities such as a live Capture the Flag competition.

One student, Guy Currie has 84% completion of the tasks, some of which have been very difficult. We wish Guy and all of the students competing good luck for the next round!
