Duke of Edinburgh 2023

25 May

Last week 10 of our students completed their first Duke of Edinburgh practice expedition at Hadrian’s Wall.

Completing a 15km walk across Winshield Crag in Haltwhistle, students tried out hiking equipment, created route cards and learned how to pitch a tent.

This practice expedition served as a warm-up for the Duke of Edinburgh Silver Award, a fun programme where young people can make friends, boost their self-esteem, and gain confidence. They acquire crucial abilities and skills for work and life, such as resiliency, problem-solving, teamwork, communication, and drive, which improves CVs and applications for jobs, universities, and graduate programmes.

The sliver award expedition will take place over 3 days and 2 nights and we wish our students the very best of luck in completing this endeavour.
