Data Collection at the Beach

22 March
Our Y12 and GCSE Geography students visited South Shields yesterday to investigate how coastal processes were affecting our local coastline. They conducted data collection methods, such as beach profiling, which helps us understand the gradient of the beach, and a graphic log which allows students to understand the geology of the cliffs.
The trip supported the students in preparing for data collection for their own independent investigations, which makes up 20% of their overall geography grade.
