It was fantastic to welcome back NSFC Alumni Student Madelyn Wood this week.
Madelyn spoke to a group of current Year 13 students who have applied to study medicine, dentistry, or veterinary science at university.
Madelyn provided an excellent insight into interview preparation and the skills needed for the application process to study on these extremely competitive courses. She also shared her personal experience of going through the interview process and clearing, which was hugely beneficial for the students.
Madelyn was a student at NSFC who completed her studies in 2022, and narrowly missed gaining an automatic place on her chosen degree course. However, it was her drive, enthusiasm and passion which she demonstrated at her interview, which allowed her to secure a place on a gateway year for her chosen course, which was fully funded by her university. This offer is extremely rare and demonstrates the real value of a strong interview as part of the application process for university.
