NSFC new cashless system

20 March

We are introducing a new cashless catering system across all sites to help reduce administration and cash handling and to allow students to reduce the amount of cash they carry to college.

The new cashless system will be in place from Monday 15 April. Cash will only be accepted on one till located within our refectory. ALL other tills in our catering outlets and coffee shops will be cashless.

To help with the transition and to support those students who may not have access to a debit card, all students will have the option to use a new online payment system - iPayImpact

Why are you going cashless?

We know that the majority of our students and staff already use a contactless method of payment when using our outlets. This change will support our catering teams to reduce their cash handling and provide a more efficient service. It also keeps our campus more secure with less cash stored on campus and reduces the need for our learners to carry cash on their person.

I / my child doesn't have a debit card

We understand that some of our learners may not have a credit or debit card of their own that they can use to pay for meals on campus.

In emergency circumstances where cash is needed, we will continue to have a facility to take cash payment in our refectory.

All learners will also have the option to use our new online payment account - iPayImpact.

This will allow learners, or their parent or guardian, to pre-load cash onto an account that can be used at all catering facilities and coffee shops across our campus.

What if I / my child receives free meals?

If a learner receives a bursary which entitles them to a meal entitlement of £4.50 per timetabled day, they will continue to receive this. They can either set up and use an iPayImpact account which will have this entitlement pre-loaded each day, or they can give their Student ID number to the colleague serving them. If they wish to purchase additional items which exceeds their allowance, they will be able to pay for these by adding funds to their iPayImpact account or by using a debit card or other contactless method at the till.

How Do I Set up an iPayImpact Account?

In order to use the iPayimpact web site you will need your account reference number.  This was sent directly to all learners, and parents and guardians of learners under 18 in March.

If you have lost your reference number, you can find this by contacting the college services team.

How do I / my child use the iPayImpact account on campus?

In order to use the funds in your iPay account, you need to provide your Student ID number to the member of staff at the till. This will allow them to use the funds in your iPay account to pay for the items you wish to purchase.
