World Challenge Trip to Namibia

16 July

After months of fundraising our World Challenge group have travelled to Namibia for the trip of a lifetime!

Their adventure began in Windhoek (meaning 'windy corner'), a small German influenced capital city. Not far from here their project took place at Erongosig Primary School. Very little renovation had taken place at the school since it was built in 1983. Our students' goal was to make renovations to the kitchen facilities which provides meals for pupils, to construct a vegetable garden for the kitchen, and engage in some English lessons for some local students. It was very rewarding for our students to be making such a positive difference in the community!

It wasn't all work and no play however. During the two weeks away the students experienced a trek around Spitzkoppe the tallest peak in the Pondok Mountain Range. With stunning bushmen rock art and bizarre rock formations created by the collapse of a volcano more than 100 million years ago and beautiful countryside this alone was an incredible experience. They also mad the most of visiting Etosha National Park where they saw all of the incredible wildlife the continent is famous for, from giraffes to zebras and everything in between!

Check out just a few of the lovely pictures from their trip:
